An account of the dramatic story of a Dutch girl given into the care of a Malay family when her father was interned by the Japanese in Java. After the war her parents, unable to retrieve their daughter by agreement, applied to the Singapore courts for her return against her wishes. The case inflamed Muslim passions resulting in two days of anti European riots in Singapore resulting in the death of 17 people.
