My Anticipated Releases For This Year

The Lincoln Highway & Under The Whispering Door

by Carol Low

These 2 books have been my long awaited releases for this year.

I’m a big fan of Amor Towles after reading A Gentleman in Moscow. Love the way he writes, possibly more than the story itself! So you can imagine my excitement to get my hands on his new book The Lincoln Highway. I’m so happy to get to indulge once again in his words.

With TJ Klune, I read The House in the Cerulean Sea and loved the warmth and fuzziness of the story. Not a genre I usually go for, but I truly enjoyed it. I’ve been waiting patiently for Under The Whispering Door, and once I got my hands on it, I finished it within 3 days amidst tight work deadlines.

I didn’t read the synopsis for both books, because I just wanted to read any book these authors write. And I sometimes like the element of surprise to just read without knowing the storyline in advance.

Under The Whispering Door came at the right juncture for me, speaking to me in a time of coping with death and grief. This is the premise of the book, but it isn’t something that will push you over the edge.

As for Lincoln Highway, I’m only 10% in, so I don’t really know where the book is going. Just reading with the flow and see where it takes me. But enjoying every sentence strung together by this talented author.
